Falling in the Duck Pond...

We went to the Botany pond the other day, and Luke kept on insisting that he stand right next to the edge. I can't pulling him back, and telling him he would fall in...but he thought he was the man, and just kept on standing next to the edge...finally, I said, "fine, Luke, if you fall in that's your problem...its not that deep anyways. Thinking he probably wouldn't fall in anyways. A few minutes later he tripped over a tree root and took a dive head first into the pond. WOw! So as you can see he is sopping wet. THat is right after I pulled him out by his leg upside down. Crazy kid. He learned though...he didn't get close again.

Kayla in Luke enjoying the Cool Fall Weather

I took these pics outside in the backyard the other day. They were playing so nicely, and Kayla was so cute with the flower. She always tells me that you get married with flowers, and that she is going to get married in the temple, and get a wedding dress. It is so cute. Luke is talking alot now days. Copying what Kayla says to him....like "go away"....not good. Also he says..."B...Y....U...Cougars!" And other fun stuff.

Back at the Y!

I haven't written in forever. I'm terrible. It has been a super busy summer...with trying to sell our house with two young kids, all the summer vacationing, and run around, moving out, moving in, Keith's brother's wedding...it was one crazy summer. But now we are here in Provo and we are glad.

WE are living in a house up by the Provo Temple. We feel very blessed to have gotten this great deal through some friends of ours from PHX. The kids have adjusted fairly well. We have found a lot of fun things to do here. We go to the library story times, we go to the park alot, and we even climbed the Y one day. Just the kids and I. THat was kind of crazy...well, it just took a long time. But Kayla is pretty proud to say she did it. We also enjoying getting an occasional icecream at the Creamery. Awesome cheap icecream...thats what i'm talkin about.

In case any of you didn't know, we are also expecting...we find out this week what we are having, and we are due March 7th. It is probably a boy, because historically Busby's get one girl, and that's it for that gender. We have a girl, so it would be a miracle if we had a girl. But miracles do happen. :O)

Kayla is pretty much potty trained now, and has transfered well to a bed from her crib. I can't believe how long she was willing to sleep in there, but I'm not complaining.

Keith is enjoying school. He loves that he doesn't have a job so that he can solely focus on school, and it is nice that because he doesn't have a job we do get to see him occasionally. He is busy right now applying, interviewing, and searching for internship opportunities for the summer. SOme of the companies he is interviewing with are Cisco, Citigroup, Amex, P&G....we'll see. We couldn't end up anywhere and we are kind of excited about the adventure.

Well, we hope all is well with all of you! :) Happy Halloween!

Kevin's Weekend Home

We had a blast when Kevin, Keith's brother came home for the weekend. Kayla loved squirting him with the hose, and Kayla liked playing in the water.

Showlow Trip for Triathlon and Great Grandpa Slack

Two weekends ago we went to Showlow, Arizona for an Olympic Distance Triathlon I sighned up for. It was the first Olympic I'd ever done. It was really fun, I came in 8th, but I am excited for the next one because I definitely see ways I could improve many ways. It is always fun to go up there since Great Grandpa Slack, my mom's Dad lives up there too, and The Tenney's, my mom's sister. We had a good time visiting with them. And seeing Kanani's new grandbaby Joseph K Junior.

Luke's 1st Birthday!

Since we were in San Fran on Luke's birthday, we celebrated at Keith's parent's house that Sunday when we got home. Luke's Grandma Busby threw a wonderful Zoo train party for him. We had hats, and trains, and Kayla helped make the cute monkey cups that you see her holding. As you can see...Luke didn't really clue in all the way on the fun of a birthday. He was run to climb the stairs, laughing his head off, the whole time we were opening presents...or trying to get him to do it.

Kayla showed us her video of her cute ballet recital that day, and so she wanted to dress up in her outfit again while Grandma Nalder and Aunt Kathy were there. Luke got cool trains for his birthday as one of his presents.

San Fransico--just the two of us!

Keith and I went to San Fransico the last weekend in May, just the two of us. We missed Luke's birthday, and we missed Kayla's dance recital, but it was really nice to just get away, and was the best time to do it. Plus,...we got great tickets to San Fran. We had a lot of fun. If you haven't been, you should really go sometime. We went to alcatrez, pier 39 and saw the sea lions, the aquarium, a submarine tour, saw the sourdough being made and Boudin Sourdough company, and The Muir Woods, Sausilto. It was really fun. We also got to see our wonderful friends the Caldwell's who drove forever and ever to see us. :O( Thanks guys. It was great to see you. And we stayed with Keith's buddy from college the Plocher's.

California Trip in May

We went to LA for Breanne's wedding in the LA Temple. We stayed with Keith's Grandma Hamilton, and it was really fun. Breanne was a beautiful bride, and the kids loved going to the temple. Kayla tells us all the time now that her and Luke are both going to get married in the temple. I'm so glad that she has set this goal already at such a young age. What could make a mother happier? So thanks to all friends who have invited us to their weddings that has instilled this in Kayla, I believe. Luke, outside the temple. Happy guy...mr. independent.
Breanne the beautiful bride!
Luke was playing with rocks in the backyard. One of his favorite things to do.

May 2007

Luke loves Grandpa Busby's glasses for some reason, and thinks its hilarious to put them on.

Funny face!
Kayla has started riding her tricycle.
This weekend we are going to LA for our good friend's wedding, Breanne. We are going to stay with Great Grandma Hamilton. We put our house up for sale last week, and there will be an open house on Saturday. It will be nice to be away while the open house is going on. Hope everyone's doing well. Busby's.

Kayla and a Chocolate Cake!

Kayla helped mom make a chocolate cake. She loves making chocolate cake....and eating the batter too! As you can see. I told her the cake was for someone else so we couldn't eat it, but that we would make a cake we would eat for Luke's birthday coming up in a few weeks. She keeps saying over and over now "We are going to have cake on Luke's birthday, and its going to have one candle on it." I think she's definitely more excited for Luke's birthday than he is. Chocolate cake...yummy good. Especially grandma smith's darn good chocolate recipe.

Our Easter Baskets at Nauvou with the Smith family. All, but Aaron.

Luke "skywalker", as Kayla calls him, at Grandma and Grandpa Smith's house playing with the lightsaver. He's a natural...we gotta get him one of those.
